The national agenda is now foused on the need for increased vocational training, both within the education system and within the workplace. Despite the success of many service industries and the re-skilling in the more traditional manufacturing sector, the UK still lags many other economies in terms of production and efficiency.

Following the publication of the Governments 14 – 16 agenda and other initiatives focused on raising basic and developed skills amongst the adult population, Vocational Education has become a major challenge for education establishments and employers alike.

Cocentra’s approach

• Cocentra’s partnering company has many years experience managing and delivering training and assessment of employees to a recognised National Vocational Qualification in a range of occupational areas including construction, highway maintenance, cleaning and caretaking, hospitality and catering, business administration, rail technicians etc. They work closely with leading industry bodies and the Learning and Skills Council to ensure a structured programme of training and achievement is in place to NVQ Levels 2 and 3.
• We do develop bespoke courses for our industrial partners needs including health & safety, practical environmental management, customer service etc.
• We can work with schools and colleges to:
  • Design curriculum areas for vocational provision that fits the needs of students and integrates well into the academic provision
  • Provide advice on delivery and training for staff to ensure flexibility and increased scope for learning styles that vocational qualification provides are achieved.
