In our view Workforce Reform is simply a way of ensuring the efficient and effective use of a school’s most important asset, its staff. However, these words, couched in the language of business, cover but do not explicitly state the real human implications. These include the opportunity to increase job satisfaction, enthusiasm, reward and motivation, to develop the right skills in the right people and to enable a better work-life balance for teaching staff. These all help create high performing teams, which is the prerequisite for school improvement and transformation.
