how well do you use your data across your school for improvement, intervention and reporting? 

It is vital that training in the use of assessment data reflects the school context and data available. An interactive session with either the senior team or all staff can quickly identify ways to improve the impact of this valuable source of information.

During a day designed specifically for your school we can look at:

• Research data on best practice in the use of assessment data

• What assessment data can tell you and how it can be used to address the current requirements from the DCSF and Ofsted (e.g. 2 levels of progress in core subjects)

• How you can go about setting meaningful, understandable and challenging targets

• Effective tracking processes which focus on impact rather than data collection

• Ensuring learners are involved in and committed to the process of measuring their progress

• Identifying individuals or groups where progress and/or attainment is causing concern

• Other data/information that may give you early warnings of problems

• What information needs to be summarised and reviewed by your subject leaders and SLT

• The role of the subject leader and the “Learning Guide”

• Communicating individual progress with parents and carers

• Reporting current progress to Governors, your SIP and the inspectors through the SEF
